Default worth buying?

A good friend of mine is selling his cam which is a comp cam 228/230 112 lsa. theres nothing wrong with it he just wants to go bigger. his price is $140. now i was eventually going to do a cam, but im just not sure if those specs would be good for my car, its a dd. and is it ok to buy a used cam?

Seems like a deal to me. That's a healthy/moderate cam by today's standards. You're in a good position where you can see what your buying. Used cams should be fine as long as they don't have any serious nicks/scratches on 'em. As for it being a daily driver, driveability is in the tune. I run a 232/238 with ~.600 lift and I daily drive it in the summer. Car virtually drives like stock now that I have the tune dialed in...

I would buy it. Should be good w/ a 3600 converter too.

Like everyone said, its a good deal. It may not be the perfect cam using todays latest technology, but its a heck of a deal. If its in the duration range you were looking for, I say jump on it.

Probably. What size are they? Aftermarket hardened pushrods dont go bad unless theres a valvetrain collision.
