At what RPM are you shifting your H/C or cam only car (M6 or A4). What do you think the max RPM should be for a stock bottom end?

I shift my car at 6400. I chose my cam for that reason. It peaks at 58-5900 and still makes over 400 hp/tq at the wheels.

I've reset my limiter to 6600rpm and I've gotten my best times shifting as close to that as I can without hitting the limiter.

On a street strip LS1 with heads/cam I recommend most folks to not go much over 6600. And over 6800 with the stock bottom end is jsut asking for it.
I have gone to 7000 and over many times with little or no probs... but many folks have gone that high and suffered severe engine damage after a while.
...6600 is as high as I would recommend for most folks.
