Default LS2 Timing chain ??

I am about ready to purchase a new timing chain. I was wondering if I go with the LS2 do I need the entire kit or will the chain work with the stock LS1 sprocket. your help is greatly appreciated.

The LS2 is an awesome upgrade, and it will fit your stock sprockets.
You can compare them and the LS2 looks thicker.

Yep. Stock sprockets are fine, unless the look very worn.

LS2 chain is a great upgrade. It's much more stout, fits on the stock sprockets, and it's really cheap from gmpartsdirect.

The only prob I see with gmpartsdirect is that the chain is only like $28 then shipping and they also charge you a processing fee of $11 or 12. I was going to buy mine the other day and that kinda made me mad that they charge the same amount as the chain for shipping and "processing". Oh well I guess I will just have to suck it up and buy one Very good and cheap upgrade though as previously stated

ws6 store, was like 38 bucks or something when i got it. i was told by predator that the LS1 sproket and LS2 chain combines for a very taught combination. Meaning, the LS1 chain/sprocket combo has a touch of slack, but when put together the slack is not really there. Only what I heard. Mine is working just fine so far!

^^Agreed Matt is great to deal with & they usually have very fast shipping.

I'm also gonna be running the LS2 chain on the stock sprokets. Haven't heard of any problems & it saves a few $$.

Correct! A little more $$ on the chain, but cheap shipping makes up for it!!
