Default Just bought Texas speed 2.5 5.3 L heads

What kind of power does everybody think Ill be making??

Ive got:

02 WS6 6spd

Torquer 2 232 234 114 .595/.598
True duals
LT's
LS6 intake
4:10s
PRC 2.5 5.3 L heads milled to 61cc
NGK plugs and MSD wires
30lb injectors
9 inch rear end.. Strange with moser axles.. spooled

Those are all my engine/powertrain mods.

What kind of power can I be expecting to put down. I have not gotten the car tuned yet, but it does not seem any faster then it was before I put the heads on.

I have been cam only the past few months, and I had a pretty damn good cam only tune.. Then 2 days ago I added heads and a nine inch.
Does tuning really make that much of a difference when adding heads? Because like I said the car doesnt feel that much faster then it did cam only.

I guess the 200 added pounds from the 9 inch over the 10 bolt could have a drastic difference as well.

Anybody think that a tune will help me ALOT?

So you are basically saying that you just added the heads recently and you didn't feel much gain? I would think you should notice a decent amount with your mods and a cam.

Yes you need to retune for heads as you'll suck in more air now and could be running lean, could be as much as 10%+ fuel difference

Also, nobody can tell you what power you'll make since every dyno is different. VERY different. Just take it to the track. Those are the only numbers that count.

+1

Dont worry about dyno numbers. Dyno numbers should only be used as a source of reference (baseline before modding, air/fuel mixture, power curve, etc) I would imagine you would dyno around 425 rwhp since youre an M6. Add a 90/90 and youd probably see 440-450 rwhp. Maybe a tad lower thru the 9". Id port my throttle body too if I were you if you dont go with the 90/90 setup.

I just bought the same heads for my stalled auto. I was debating on the Torquer V2 cam, but I went a tad smaller with the 228r. Its a proven cam....runs strong and very streetable. You should be happy with that setup though.

When I swapped my ported stock heads for an aftermarket casting I picked 20 rwhp immediately and then another 20 after the tune was dialed in. Considering you added a 9 inch I think all is well.
