Default what cam for TEA 1.5 heads

sorry guys, search is down for me right now. just purchased a set of TEA 1.5 heads from stompastang the other day and wanted to get a good cam that would match the heads well. i'm not looking for any sort of donkey dick cam, i keep my RPMs relatively low for the most part and would like alot of power down there. it's never seen the track and only will a couple of times. this will be my first heads/cam swap and i want to do it right the first time. thank you all, you've been a tremendous help so far.

My X1 has been going strong for 3 years now. I think the TEAs has always liked cams that dont have huge splits in the duration.

I was going to buy those heads but ended up getting a procharger instead but if it helps at all I rally did my research and I was either going to run the TR230 or like Jasson said the MTI X1. Both are proven to ahve good power down low in which should yield some nice ET's. Pick either one IMO and you can't go wrong. I also talked to Predator about it and he had mentioned the same so need I say anymore?

1 - G5X1 228/232 .588/.574 112 or 114

2- TSP 228/228 XER .588/.588 112,114,115 ....i think .?? Don't know much about this cam ,but it looks good

3- Futural Motorsports F13 cam ......enough said ..great with those heads

I've seen several cars with TEA 1.5 5.3 heads with the G5X1 and the F13 cam run some 11.4's - 11. 2's on thier first pass down the track at 117 - 122 mph A4's and M6's guys.

Good luck

TEA 1.5's work really well with a TR224 and a set of kooks headers. This is a tried and proven set up that will put you solidly in the 420hp range and give you good street manners.

Good luck.

Cam Motion will custom grind a cam based on your application and needs.

i made 436 rw with a set of tea stage 1 5.3 heads with a 228 r on a 112. they had 57 cc chambers so my scr/dcr was up there, i think about 11:7 scr/8.9 dcr or so.

trap...

was that with the TSP 228 listed above? with .588" lift?

and was the 57cc due to having them milled?

were you able to run the 11.7 CR on pump gas??

With 57cc chambers and -2cc pistons at 0 deck and .030 puts me at 11.92. So it might have been a little higher.
