Does anybody plan on making a 300cfm intake?
Can someone explain exactly how this number is generated?
I assume it is 300 cfm intake port flow at some set pressure.
TIA

Not sure about that...... Im guessing that its measured off of the runner, could be wrong. But I do know that Cartek said that they are making an intake that flows ~330 CFMs. And PSJ said that he was working on one also.

Doesn't also depend on which runner your testing i.e. testing a runner closer to the TB as one closer to the firewall?

I know one company working on a cast aluminum intake, hoping to be price competitive with the Holley but outflow it significantly... Don't know a lot of specifics or how far along they are, but I'll see what I can find out...

One thing that we need to look at is the runner cross sectional area, length and tapper angle. You can have a intake that flows awesome, but it makes the car slower because it doesn't tune the RPM band correctly. That's the reason only big cube guys are using the sheetmetal and other types. We've seen some dyno charts with new intakes and they get killed up to HP peak. The problem is the long runners of the LS6 are hard to beat, you need both flow and long runners.
