Why I'm happy with my Torquer V.2
For a start I want to let everyone know what mods I have. I own a 2000 Z28 w/ mostly all bolt-ons. I have a lid, p/p TB + MAF, LS6 intake, stock heads, PS LT's ORY, and a Magnaflow catback w/ an electric cutout. I installed 4:10s about a month ago. I recently installed my Tv.2 from TSP w/ chrome/moly pushrods, comp 918 springs, ASP underdrive pulley, LS2 timing chain, and ported LS6 oil pump. For those that don't know, the specs of the Tv.2 are 232/234 and .595/.598 I got mine on a 112 lsa because I have an M6. I have a stock clutch, driveshaft and 10 bolt rear end. People complain that "oh, those cams are dogs down low." I sorta agree, but I like that. For 1 I don't want to destroy my *** end and have to buy a new one. 2, I don't want to **** my clutch up or *** end up on the take off. 3, I'm on street tires. 4, okay, they're not too good at low rpms but with 4:10s and an M6 it doesn't take me very long to get into the powerband anyway and I don't put very much stress on my drivetrain during take off. 5, when I install my wet 150 shot, I'll be able to turn it on at the strip and rape MF's! I'm very happy with it right now and down the road may buy some 243 casting heads and mill them down for more torque on the bottom end but that's down the line. I'll post some pics up of the install later. I'm not into the peak #'s gain like others and don't have any track times yet but will keep you informed when I do!!!

I installed my setup the first of July. I love the cam, it's mean as hell, sounds good and has good power down low still. I have 3.73 gears in my M6 and it gets up and goes just fine. It's a bitch to launch though, trying to get high enough rpm's to not bog it and low enough to not blow the tires away is a chore; fun though!

I just tossed it in my car too... made 400 whp (On a Mustang Dyno) on my '97 MN6 Corvette with a set of hand ported 243's...
I extremely happy w/ the results!
Baseline w/ Long Tubes - Intake, and No Tune On same Mustang Dyno
I wanna throw it on a Dynojet type dyno and hit something like 420-440 whp... hehe
I don't see why they say it's a dog down low... it made more TQ across the entire curve than my stock cam. And with the 4.10s in my Vette it's freakin awesome!

2nd gear on street tires is just fine, just make sure you don't dump the clutch if you have a six sp. and "yes, 'Dick's sporting goods' is a store w/ a huge parking lot a few of us have car meets at. I just got mine tuned and dyno'd as well and it looks very similar to this sheet/ I have bolt ons, and 4:10s and my car made 400.07hp and 371 lb/ft. Torque is over 300 from the beginning of the sheet til the end. Now I just have to pray I don't destroy my rear!!! I do have stock heads and am happy with the power, I'm looking for a set of 243s to mill down to up my CR now. Then I'm sure I'll be in the market for a 12 bolt.

For example.....I have a buddy with the exact same setup as me but with a 224R. He makes 15-20 more HP and 35-45 more torque than I do all the way to 5000 RPM, then I make a little more HP. About 15 more than he does up to 6700. He also outruns me at the track regularly by about .2 seconds and 3 MPH.
In the end, I decided to have cam custom spec'd for my car and goals, because I want more torque than I am getting with the T2. Already have it in the living room, waiting to be installed. I'll let you know how it turns out. The new one is a 224/230 .609/.603 111+2 (I had it tested at Thunder Racing and it actually measures 227/232.5 .610/.604 111.5+2).
Anyway, with the shorter intake duration, it should build better cylinder pressure (DCR will go up several points. ~.4 or so) and make gobs more torque.

Just for comparison 227/230 .639/.612 114+4 LSA (A4), 3600 stall
Look at the trq below the curve and peak, That is what I call a Torquer Cam
It is called "Raptor Cam"

What happen here ????????? I have one in the garage that I was going to install ?????
I thought the TV2 cam was a great cam ?????
Should I not waste my time pulling out he 228 R on 114 and installing the TV2 on a 112 ?
I have 3.90s
Will I not like this cam below 3000 RPMS? \\Will there be much of a differance in the low end on the 228 and the TV2 ?

If I had a 228R, I wouldn't go to a T2. But keep in mind it is only opinion and we all know those are like A**holes. Every car is different. It may run like crazy in yours and be a dog in mine.
Your AFR205's may make a difference, especially if they are milled. Head gasket thickness will make a difference. Lots of factors.
What I would do though, is run your specs through a DCR calculator and see how much (or how little) it would change with the new cam. That should give you a good idea how it will perform.
edit: Sorry for the minor thread jacking guys. Please carry on.
