Default Runs like $hit after cam install

Installed a trex cam and ls6 heads on my 2001 ls1. I have seen post of many running and driving their cars with the cam untuned. I can hardly get it to drive. It boggs like crazy and seems to run extreamly rich?? Blackened spark plugs. Since others have driven this setup with no tune I feel that maybe something else is not right. If anyone has any input on this it would be great. Its hard to get something tuned if you can't drive it anywhere.

No it just needs a tune. Especially a cam that large.

I installed the MS3, and yeah it drove but would want to turn off every few blocks. A tune will clear all that up, and thats when the fun begins.

well, if you were looking for power below 3000-3200 rpm, then your gonan be disappointed. BUT, if you wanted a freight train from there on up to shift, then, you will have the biggest smile on your face ever, especially when you look behind you, and see infinate miles of black marks

-=Mod=- tried running his MS4 on a stock tune temporarily and it was sucking down gas like CRAZY and ran like CRAP!!! 1/4 tank going across town.. He had a mail order tune done by TSP and now that car runs AMAZING! He says it pulls like a raped ape now!! And he gets better gas mileage than I do! -I'm in desperate need of a retune. You're also leaving a lot of power on the table w/o it.

When I first had my LS1 Edit/Dyno tune done, I picked up 34hp off it and a LOT better gas mileage! That was 15k miles and a couple mods ago.

Almost anything you do to these cars, engine wise, requires a tune.

Listen to what we're telling you.. it WILL be badass as soon as you get that tune done!
