Default 427 RWHP... what will it be after converter and gears?

I have dyno'd at 427 and am adding a TCS 3500 and 3:73 gears...how will this effect my numbers ? I assume they will drop, but how much?
I'm replacing the stock converter and 3:23's.

I don't know jack squat about torque converters, but rear end gears will not give you any horsepower.

You may lose a little due to the tourque converter it depends on how effecient the converter is. The gears will not change HP. I would guess around 10-12 HP. You will still see a drop in your ET because of the converter.

The converter is 98 percent efficient if that means anything... Thats a serious drop, but as of now , even with the 427 at the wheels I have terribel low-mid 12 et's. I'm hoping for 11.7 with good rubber.

Well I would say as long and you put a slick on it you should run low 11s easy. With drag radials probably a mid 11 is do able. Or you can do the street tire with a 13 second quarter mile burnout.

Usually, going from a stock converter/stock gears to your 3,500 and 3.73's expect to see a loss of 18-22 RWH open, lock the 3,500 converter down and you will only show a loss of about 4-6 RWH.

You will definately need more than Nittos. You will need at least ET Streets. The paint on the side of them will come right off. Rub a little brake fuild on them with a rag. Then you can shine them up. It will look good and better yet you will hook up..

Last question...I also made a general post...Are there 17" ET Streets? How wide can I put on a 9 inch (or some say 9.5) rim?
And thanks Joe, again, for the experienced based info.

I wouldnt worry about how much you will loose on a dyno because you are gonna love that TCS converter. Between that and the gears you should be low 11`s on a good tire no problem.

The 17" slicks have not been sent out to anyone. They haven't technically released I don't believe.
But they are working on it.

Oh well...just more pain...12.285 after the gears, tranny and vert....but to be fair...the air was TERRIBLE...could mean several tenths...and I am having shift point issues...so It's deffinately gonna get better....60 ft went from 2.1 to 1.7!!
