Default 500 Hp and 200hp shot of nos.

Looking to build a 346 with forged internals except crank. Goal is for 500 whp and install a 200hp shot of n20. Would this be worth doing on a 346 block or should I just build a 402-408 and install n20. Nitrous would be direct port set up if it matters. Vehicle will be track and street car. Thanks

Either way your looking at a large cam and alot of compression, for large hits of N20 you want a Aluminum rod and those are not good for street driving. What trans are you planing on using.

Curious why you would say the AL rod for a 200 shot of Nitrous???

Race only I understand, but otherwise???????

I went with a $1500 head and cam kit from texas speed and a 150 rwhp shot of nitrous and made 560 rwhp through a big stall auto, all this on a stock bottom end 346.

Well if he wanted to make 500rwhp with a auto and a 346 thats pretty much a race setup. Just get a LS3 block with a 4.100 stroke, some ported L92's with a ported GMPP carb intake and a elbo. 11.5-1 compression and good cam will get you well over 500rwhp with a 6-speed.

a 408 iron block will love the juice. You can hit 500rwhp and still be able to drive it on the street, and hit it with the juice for the added punch. It should hold up a bit better as well.

It also adds 88lbs to the nose of the car. The LS3 and LS2 blocks are plenty strong.
