Default TQR II: 205 or 225 AFR(or other) Heads? Which size?

Curious as to what head would be best for this cam, and maybe something slightly larger. have every bolt on you can thing of at this point, and will be installing ported Fast 90 NW 90 tb.

Looking for best power under curve increase, but also a good stout bump in hp. Since not blown or nitrous, will increase compression.

I have even seen 215's being run now. What's the difference in performance attributes of all these sizes on the LSx engines?

Thanks!

any clue as to how far I can go with milling them down? maybe to 59cc w/ cometic gaskets? Or is 62cc the magic number for the TQR v2 cam? Specs of cam in sig on 0.598 lift i think it was...

the TFS 215's seem to be the best head you can buy for the T2. Now you could spend a lot less on other heads and maybe lose 10-15 rwhp, but save money for other things. like suspension.

I would say 205's, which will help maintain some of you lower RPM torque.

You'll want to speak to Tony Mamo about whats optimum for that cam as far as milling. He's at SEMA this week I think but shoot him a pm, I'm sure he's connected.

The size 205's will be more for your application. You just cant slap any head and cam together and get great results either. You need to talk to the head guy and see what works best with his head.

have you thought about doing a custom ground cam? that would probably guarantee the most efficient set up with a nice set of heads..especially AFRs (im jealous)

i have tfs 215's and they worked good for me. milled to 60cc and a cometic .040 gasket. i picked up 68rwhp and 45rwtq with the tfs 215's and a 90/90 combo over my torquer 2/ ls6 ported tb combo.

No kidding!!! wow! That's what I would be hoping for regarding power. Though, it seems with the TFS's need to get roller rockers and valve covers correct? That may be above beyond my budget..

yes u do need to buy roller rockers. but honestly at that point in the build u really need to atleast send the stockers out for a needle bearing rebuild anyways so the out of pocket is only another $100. stock valve covers work fine.
