why the different colors and which one for is cars ?

There is also a green one.... I think i had a Blue one, but when I replaced it, the dealer sold me a Green on. I am not sure what the differences is either.

depends on oil pickup tube style. the blue one is mainly used in ls1 f-body cars and vettes. don't know on the trucks, they might be different.

Just bought one for my sons car and it was blue. The guy said it was for 98-2002 camaros.

When i got mine from the dealer i believe it was blue. I just ordered another one cuz i think mine got hosed. My oil pressure is slowly starting to decrease as time goes by. hope its not the oil pump. I just replaced it about a year and a half ago..... Oh, I also read somewhere that there is a thicker oring that is recommended for our application.

I believe that is the blue one. I just measured it, it is 0.137" thick.

I used this one: 12557752

Just make sure you tighten the pickup tube before the bolts that mount the pump or you risk damaging the o-ring and life will not be good for a little while.

Truck pans use the green o-ring, which has a larger cross-section.

hmm, I used an aircraft o ring for mine.. It fit perfect and hasn't caused me any problems. Had it for a long time.
