Default What HP do you think my combo will make?

99 SS A4 LS6 heads, patriot dual gold springs, comp cams hardend pushrods 7.400, Comp cam .232 .236 .598/.604 112lsa, Pace setter LT's and ORY, roll master double rolling timing chain, Ls6 intake, ported tb, msd wires, slp lid, k&n filter, Fuddle 3600 stall, stock muffler, cut out, Tranny cooler

Just bought the car off of a member on the board and wondering what kind of power it will make when I take it to be dyno tuned.

That would be nice. I would be happy if it put 400 + to the wheels. It runs hard and has tons of power. It has a pretty good tune in it now but it has never been dyno tuned. Gotta find one near by.

I think they are basically stock LS6 heads.

Low 400-430 maybe. It is hard to tell, I have read that when you have an A4 w/ a stall the HP numbers can be misleading. I won't pay to find out my exact HP because I am happy believeing that I have 400+ Horse power at the wheels. Anyone that lines up next to me won't be able to prove me wrong.

cute response. That can be the difference between a cam only car and a head / cam car.

A stalled a4 is gonna suck a lot of power compared to the same car with a 6 speed obviously. in a 6 speed, i'd expect about 400rw. On a stalled a4, i'd guess 380 - 385rw. Depends on the tune and whether or not you're running it through the stock exhaust, or the cutout.

HaHa, Never had a post of mine called cute before, Thanks sweet heart. All I am saying is that I have read that the Stall is what causes the dyno number to be off even though the stall really perks the car up. No expert here, just know how my car acts and what I have read.

400-410 at the rear wheels on a dynojet. Anything more is probably an optomistic dyno calibration.

Just remember, dyno's are tuning tools, so take any before & after numbers with a grain of salt. What it runs at the track will be your true indication of how much power you are making. Look at your before & after MPH in the quarter.

anytime!

Im just saying that "most" cam only cars with cams around that size do around 400rw and ones with mild ported stage 2 heads that arent top of the line add another 30 - 40 horse.

It just sounded like your guess was trying to cover both bases is all, which is funny. lol

I wouldn't never thought that much HP with his set up. I just order Trickflow Fast cast heads, 1.7 HS RR and cam 228/230 585/585 with the stuff I already had, Fast 78 setup, Mac mids, and a built A4 with TCI 3500 stall and I was told only to expect alittle over 400 hp.

That's because Mac mids are only a slight improvement over the stock manifolds. FYI, I have seen another poster here by the name of Gillbot(?) who made right at 400 with a TR230/224 & stock heads in a stalled A4 with Mac mids. Your combo should be a little better than that, but probably 415-420 tops.

Yeah I plan on calling them at XXXMotorsports today to get some prices and stuff. They are a little over 1 hour away so not too bad. Anyone that you know had their car tuned there??
