5.3 or 5.7
so what kind of power gain does the ls1 have over the 5.3? it will be going into a 97 camaro. im looking to achieve 400rwhp 400 torque. or what ever it takes to beat my brothers 03 mach 1 mustang.

i already have a set of stage 2 853's and wanted to pair them with a tr224 cam, the car will have LT headers. You thank maybe that with a 5.7 will get me to 400rwhp?
also i dont want to go over kill on the rearend not sure how the stock rear will hold up so i dont thank ill be using a stall.

they'll fit but I'm thinking too much compression for pump gas. the lq4 might work better. you can bore a 5.3 to a 5.7, with the right pistons those heads would be fine. to put a good combo together you need to do your home work. are the pistons flat top or dish? out of the hole and how much? how many cc's are the heads? and so on.
