Why the hell is my car just clicking and not turning over with 14 battery volts?
I just installed my engine, there are three terminals on the starter solenoid, I put the remote wire to the remote, the positive to what I thought was positive, and the negative on the terminal with the other small ground wire from the solenoid to starter. Is this right?

The ground wire should go right to the engine block, not on the solenoid. The small wire goes on the small terminal, the large positive wire goes on the large terminal with nothing else, and the third terminal should go from the soleniod to the starter with no extra wires.

Ok now I have the starter wiring on lock, my battery is crap tho imma get a new one, I tried starting it and it rpetty kmuch sounded the same, a very fast clicking with no attempt to spin the engine. I checked the batt voltage tho and it was only like 11.54 so that could be relavent. Is there anything outside these three wires that could be causing this?

i had the same problem about a month ago, i fixed it by removing the cables from the battery and cleaning everything with a wire brush and some baking soda+water, put everything back together nice and tight and she fired right up. Goodluck

hmm yea my battery terminals and wiring is as clean as my rims so that couldn't be it. Does anyone know how many volts you need to fire up an ls1? Is it possible I could have slightly sub normal voltage but even lower amperage, not allowing enough energy or do the two go hand in hand? Is there any other possibility that could cause this?

nah its not the starter, unless its the starter wiring somehow. the car only has 30k miles on it, everything is clean as **** and mechanically speaking should be flawless I believe, it was at least before I pulled the engine and transmission. The battery is the original from 1999 so it's been gettin time, 9 years on that son' bitch.

it could be having excessive drop in juice when you start it or if it is clicking, your starter sileniod might have gone bad. good luck, electronics have a mind of their own.

Its a damn bad battery ppl. Just jump the car or put a new battery in it. Plain and simple. And yes amps does start a car but sufficient voltage is required for all of the supporting electronics to maintain a running idle and supply current to all sensors and relays to fire the car in the first place. 11.6V is not going to cut it. Put a new battery in it and fire it up. 9 years old. I say you got your money's worth out of it.

Yeah you can't really test a battery by its sitting voltage. In needs to be put on a load tester to see if it keeps the voltage output when put under a load. I'm glad to see you go it fixed up though.
