Well, if you have no lift you don't really have much of an option except to pull from the top.

from the top isn't bad just unbolt the trans and take off the intake for extra room. the trans can be taken out the bottom I pulled one with just a jack and stands.

i dont have the link anymore, but there is a guide on here that tells how to use an engine hoist to lift the front of your car. it allows you to drop it through the bottom.

I took mine out from the bottom in my garage with no lift. You still need a hoist though. We also changed the front suspension ( a-arms, shocks, k-member). Basically, after jacking the front end up as high as we could get it and suspending the motor, unbolt and remove all the stuff underneath (steering, brakes and suspension stuff), then drop the k-member. Obviously I didn't list everything that needs to be removed. We then lowered the motor and trans together onto a piece of carpet and pulled it through the wheel well. We reinstalled the same way.

At our pace, 1 year. We only worked a few hours a weekend since I was in no hurry. If you went at it pretty good and knew what you were doing, maybe a weekend. We ran into a lot of unexpected hold ups though.

I swapped my 408 in my driveway from the top. I did it this way since i was swapping heads and i could just drop the block in then bolt everything up.

Im currently helping a buddy on here swap engines and were lifting the car and putting it in from the bottom. Both ways have their advantages.

guess how long it should take and multiply it by 3 and you should be close to how long it will actually take. i did mine in a couple of days

And also do that with the cost of what you think you'll spend.

First(and only) time I pulled mine from the bottom it took about 3 hours. Guessing if I do it again it will take half that. I have a step by step somewhere, I will have to find it......
