Default Patriot Performance S2 & TSP 232/228 Cam DYNO NUMBERS!!!

Keep in mind, the only thing on the car right now is a lid and K&N, stock manifolds and stock ls1 intake......and of course the heads and cam.

*All NUMBERS ARE ON MUSTANG DYNO's*

Stock (lid only) - 280rwhp 292 rwtq

After H/C No tune - 319rwhp 305rwtq(?)

After H/C And Tune - 345rwhp 322rwtq

I am VERY pleased with these results, I have two dyno graphs that I will post tomorrow and I have the hp ratings/rpm data.

Kirk @ APE did the tune, what an amazing job!!!

On deck, ls6 intake, headers, x, bellows, bigger tb, asp pulley, yadda yadda.

Parts used:
Patriot Performance Stage 2 heads (5.3L)
TSP 232R 232/228 .595/.588 112LSA

How much of a difference is there between the two dyno systems? Is it a certain percentage or fixed number?

My Patriots are going on tomorrow night after work along with the 228R, double roller, ASP pully, Iridium plugs and MSD wires. Car is currently in the garage with a few things off. Should have some impressions this coming weekend. A gain of 65HP is not to bad to say the least.

guys if its done right the mustang dyno Does not make a huge difference, Ive seen cars get dynod and then go to the mustang dyno down the street and make near the same power.

Holy cow man..AWESOME number's for a mustang dyno with stock manifolds and intake! Very impressed with those result's..you should see about 390 RWHP on the mustang dyno (so about 425-430 on a dynojet?) with longtubes,x-pipe,asp pulley,LS6 intake and various other little mod's..for the price man those patriot's are kickin major ***! Congrat's on the number's

Man, that's pretty impressive on a MUSTANG DYNO considering you have NO headers or LS6 intake. When you get some headers on that car.. watch out!! Long tubes and exhaust on my car added 32rwhp back when I had a STOCK cam!

either way you did pick up 60hp, butttt thats one hellova cam also! GET HEADERS!!!!!!!!

Your numbers would be around 365-370 on a dynojet. Nice job considering you have so much left to do. I think you have 50RWHP left in the combo easily.

Cheers

Thank you captain obvious!!!

The reason why I didn't do the bolt-ons first: Not a ton of $ on hand to do it all at once, had the $ for H/C now, decided to do it. Not that I have to explain it to any of you since it is MY car and I am going about it the way I want to...

For those of you dyno queens, on a dynojet it would be:
8% difference - 375rwhp (-(375*8%-375=345))
and if you think about it, LS6 intake is proven about 15rwhp on stock cars, and like the guys said above 32rwhp on a stock cam, so lets say 20 for intake, and 35 for headers, that puts me at 430rwhp, so i'm right on target

This was a 65rwhp gain on a mustang dyno, not bad if you ask me with stock manifolds and ls1 intake. Hell, the rest of the car is stock except lid!!! The muffler is even stock...

Thats not bad at all considering the big bottle neck in the intake and exhaust. Your probably leaving a good 50 hp on the table.

Yep, great numbers! You have ALOT left in that combo, the stock exhaust totally sucks, not to mention just an Ls1 intake. You could have MORE than 50rwhp on tap, but you'll probably need another tune after adding new mods. Congrats!

I like your style. Spend the big money first if you have it like that. The little stuff comes much easier later. What headers and exhaust are you planning on? I'm doing my cam/springs/ retainers, and gears before the other bolt ons.

Great numbers for what is there!

Working out final details - should have full bolt-on (drag setup) numbers by Saturday afternoon - just waiting on confirming phone call.

Yeah, a re-tune will probably be necessary, but since I have the intial one, a re-tune for me will be a lot cheaper.
For headers, I was thinking either Edlebrocks, pacesetters, or dynatech.
for exhaust i'll go with a dr. gas x-pipe w/bullets.

i wouldnt be too quick to blame the mustang dyno. i have seen cars go from a mustang dyno by me (mustang magic) then to a dyno jet (lizard racing ) and only dyno about 3-4 more hp . get some long tubes and an ls6 intake.
