Default Need Straight answer on rings ASAP!

Gonna assemble bottom end this weekend. I have rings that came with my Wiseco pistons, but can't find any literature associated. I know which rings are the oil rings, but which are the top and middle? Here's what I have:

Ductile Iron - Plasma Moly - (Barrel with no taper)

Cast iron - Phosphate - Taper Face (taper goes up?)

Also very little consensus on ring gaps for nitrous use. This will be a 4-inch bore with 150-200 N2O shots. I have heard differing opinions on the ring gaps. Here is what I am thinking unless I get a good reason to divert:

Top - .017
Mid - .019
Oil - .015 to .060

Moly ring in top groove, taper goes down on second ring. For gaps should be .025" for top and .020" for second ring. These are nitrous street motor clearances.

Thanks for the quick reply. Just waiting for others to chime in. Seems this ring gap issue is a contentious one

Just talked with Geoff at Thunder. He is a proponent of the 2nd ring gap being larger for pressure relief. I am going to go with his recommendation for 4-inch bore of:

Top - .018 to .020
2nd - .022 to .026
Oil - .015 to .060

With that in mind, I will shoot for .020, .025, and .040.

Thanks to Geoff and Angie for awesome service as usual.

you should never have to file the oil scrapers. Thats all they do is scrape the oil off the walls. They dont hold any pressure..

the ring gaps given to me by Chris at Daimond (.016, and .018) are good to a 200 shot. I made sure twice with him

There should be a dot to mark the top of the rings and yes, the plasma moly goes on top

Dont line the gaps up, offset them 180 degrees.

The larger second ring gap is the way to go. It allows the gasses to escape and help clear the oil rings. Also keeps the pressure from building between the second and top ring and upsetting top ring seal.
I would go more gap though for nitrous.
I use .025 and .028 in my blown 346.
It is about the cleanest burning motor I have ever built.
The larger gaps will NOT hurt performance and will give you a better safety margin .
