MS4s accessories..What do i need?
Hey guys i'm gonna be orderin an MS4 for my 98 WS6 M6 soon. I'm not going with heads also due to short funds My question is what else do i need to go along with it? I believe oil pump and timing chains are a must right? What else?

Anyone know the pushrod length i'll need for an MS4? And TSP has a package with the MS4, PRC Spring Kit, and hardened chromoly pushrods. Should i just buy this and make it easier than piecing things together? Also what's the difference between a 111 and 112 lobe seperation? Sorry for all the questions but this will be my first cam swap.

Yea the 111 LSA is going to be rougher than the 112 LSA, but you are already getting a beast cam in the MS4 so might as well go 111LSA. Also I believe LSA is described in the cam sticky as being the # of degrees between the intake valve being fully open and the exhaust valve being fully opened. I think that with the 111 LSA the valves would be closed longer and the engine would make more torque. Regardless of which one you pick I think they should result in about the same horsepower. Good Luck!

The retainers and new seals will come with the spring kit. may have to re use valve locks, dont remember. On a 98 its pretty crucial to get that oil pump replaced. 7.4 or 7.425 will be fine either way.

ms4 on a 111 is a beastly cam for that 98 shortblock. to take advantage of a cam that large you'll need to be willing to spin 6800 rpm. either way, i hope you know what you're getting into, but given your knowledge regarding pushrods, etc, i don't think you do. it sounds to me like you might enjoy their torquer series of cams more, as they don't require such high rpm and will drive much better in the lower rpm. also, you will want some 410 gears with that cam. the 342s will be a dog and take what seems like forever to wind out.
you'll need a cam
dual spring of your choice
retainers (typically included with the springs)
gaskets
hardened pushrods
i would suggest a new oil pump
ls2 timing chain, no sprockets as already mentioned
if it were me i would buy:
a set of patriot gold duals
use texas-speed's custom cam designer for a cam of my choice
tsp hardened pushrods
lingenfelter ported oil pump
gaskets from GM
ls2 timing chain from GM
