Default Need some help with injector size!!

I have a 346ci with afr 205's,LT's,no cats,fast 90/90 and a 238/242 .605/.609

plus i spray 150 but wet but may go dry later.

It is in a 04 gto with a lpe pump and a kenne bell boost a pump right now my o2's start out at 900 ish and then drop to 870-860 range so i know i am out of injector.

would it hurt to go to the 60# right now or should i go with the 42.5's

for the small diff in price i would rather go bigger now and have a low duty cycle and not have to rebuy later if i go dry or with a bigger cube's

any help on this would be great . just want to buy the right stuff the first time

thanks

Id go with the 60#s if they arent to much more money. I mean its better to be to big then to small and take the chance of blowing it up right?

no it is only like $50 more to go with the 60's

but if i need them later i would have to take a loss on the 42.5's and rebuy

thanks for the help

Not with injectors. Cars that run more injector than needed usually run rich at idle and have poor idle quality. Do a search in the fueling section about the subject and you will learn more.

For your set up I would run an injector thats rated at ~36lbs @ 3bar. Thats enough for 500+RWHP N/A.

I have to disagree with the above post. Yes you can have too much injector, but if you plan on spraying, 60# injectors should not be too large. However, 42# injectors should also take care of your fueling needs. 36# injectors will not be enough, as they would be just about ideal for that setup WITHOUT the spray.

DONAIMIAN and I have different opinions on this. My advise would be to start a POLL in the fuel section and get numourous opinions on this. I have a feeling that if you do, you will see that most will side with me. However wherever the majority falls into, it will guide you in the right direction.

I agree with Donaimain, the 36 lb/hr @ 3 bar are plenty if you are using a WET N20 kit. The N2O system will feed the necessary fuel, so a huge injector isn't needed.

Fuel injector sizing isn't a matter of opinion, it's a mathematical calculation based on known parameters. I wouldn't start a poll, this will do nothing but further confuse the issue. Use a good, accurate injector calculator and buy the right size injectors.

I didn't notice it was a wet kit. Yeah, 36# injectors will be fine.
