346 Blown VS. 408 Bottle Fed which is faster?
so the setup i have currently only made what a MS4 cam only car made, 421-386, and i'm not sure why? So the question is should i reconfigure my setup for a 346 pro charged or a 408 bottle fed either way the car is daily driven because you never know when a rich bastard is going to pull up in a brand new lamborgini murcielogo like a ***** and flip the bird to you & your LSWNDR I would like something that will be decsent to drive every day. My car is a M6 with a spec 3+ and a moser 12-bolt so holding power will not be an issue. i'm not quite sure which is gonna be faster. 346 is forged already but the 408 setup would require more parts, time, and money. What should i do?

In your case i would stick with the 346 since it is forged. The 346 has very good potential with a lil boost. Just keep in mind the 408 would be faster if it were an efficient build and a decent shot. Also the 408 would use more gas as a DD.The 346 would have to go high boost/ and meth inj or race gas to keep up.
Let's see most decent 408 builds put down:
480-520 on motor
650-700 on 200-250 shot
720-780 on 300 shot
and FAT FAT amounts of torque.
a good low compression 346 puts down:
550 on low boost (6-8psi)
650 on medium boost (10-12)
720-750 on high boost (14-16)
DOn't quote me on these numbers, they are ROUGH guesstimates of what each generally puts down, just throwin some starter numbers out there.

i just see alot of 408 kids super proud of there numbers and races won with there setup's so that is why i'm leaning towards it, but then truthfully i was thinking about a pro charged 346 since my set up is forged already to save cost.

any n2o car is going to drag a charger car of near equal power. torque hit. especially a 408 on the bottle - those motors setup properly are ******* nasty. the only prochaged 346 cars i've seen run what they should are sponsor cars, which obviously are given the best parts and time investment available. i'd opt for a nitrous setup, just because you can have a stout n/a setup that still runs hard on a 200 shot. you don't need a "nitrous" motor to run small(er) shots like that. you can knock on 8s with a 408 and some juice, i've seen it many many times. not seen many procharged 346s even in the 9s without EXTENSIVE suspension work and a **** ton of additional **** that generally makes having the boost a big pain in the ***.
the hardest running cars i know of are n/a monsters with the bottle for fun.
just my .02

I'm all for a large nitrous motor but a supercharged 346 is the way to go for a kickass daily driver. If you make 700whp either way, have a good tire, and can drive you will outrun 99.9% of whatever you encounter on the street. You will be running a way smaller cam on the blower motor and get quite a bit better gas milage under normal driving. I've done a few supercharged C6's that get 30-33mpg on the highway.

Please don't shoot me for asking, but, doesn't it come down to what you want out of your FI setup?
The new Magnusson Supercharger's for our cars REALLLLLLY sparked my interest. My idea was to rebuild my motor w/ forged internals but keeps the stock C.I and what-not (my block in perfectly fine) w/ the execption of a custom grinded cam. Even my heads would be stock, just ported. The blower is like $6K and i would guesstimate the engine work to be around $5-6K placing me between $12-15K for the build after you factor in misc b/s parts and tune.
Unless im way off (????) , i would think that would be right around the ballpark price (cheaper???) of a 402-408 C.I build, after you factor in any parts to retrofit a GenIV engine into a GenIII car, and make more power; right?
I'm not looking for a specific HP goal or E.T; what i am loking for is the best bang for the buck.
