seafoamed and odd results
so i did some seafoaming tonight. did about 1/3rd the can instead of half just to see the results. no smoke at all whatsoever, but there was a strange smell released at first.
when i first bought the car i could smell that same smell every time i WOT the car, EVERY time. smell was worse with the windows down. the car has 65k miles on it now and after the seafoam wore off and i WOT around town a little bit, there is now no smell at all when i WOT. i'm glad, but i find it odd that the smell i've smelled for 30k+ miles just randomly went away on the seafoam procedure however the car didn't smoke at all. o well, maybe i'll get better gas mileage now...

I've done seafoam, seems to work smokes like car is on fire. You got to let it suck it up then shove in the line and let the car stall. Let it sit and watch out. I did a tear down after a cleaning and found stuff dirty. Only stuff I've seen work is BG. Cleaned much better than any auto parts stuff. Look for it on ebay.

well i followed the directions that someone posted on here. i let it suck stuff up and stall out but it did nothing smoke wise.
what do you mean BG seems to work good? so seafoam didn't work good?

Another thing, he didn't say seafoam didn't work, he just said he thought that BG did it better. So don't feel like you waisted any time or money! Cleaning a little is better than none at all.

A couple weeks ago I seafoamed my car. I followed the instructions posted by I think ChocoTaco word for word. When my I started my car the was no smoke whatsoever. The only time it ever smoked was one I took it for a little drive. I saw one puff of smoke and that was it. But it runs a lot better now and I have even picked up an mpg or two. Of course switching to gas with no ethanol probably helped a little too.

where do you get gas without ethynol?
i used about 1/3rd the can and the instructions i read said to only use 1/2 the can so i don't see how 2 oz. is going to make the difference of smoke or not smoke.

some cars may smoke some may not... 2oz; put 2oz in a cup then pour it on the floor its a decent amount.
mine stalled and i cut it off. let it set for a while then came back and cranked up and there was enough smoke to see; but it wasn't pouring out like crazy as others have described

I did mine at around 60k. Didn't smoke at start up although you could smell that toxic ****. Little itty bitty puff when I backed into the round and layed into it, that's it. Seemed to idle smoother afterwards. Could be the placebo(sp) effect. My buddys 99 Mustang GT smoked like a Bob Marley concert.

spray cleaner
General motors has a spray made for tb motors and i have used it many many times dont know the pt# right now but i know it works like gang busters! ive used it on all different types of intake designs and it always smokes but more on the higher mileage motors. All my customers would always tell me how their car felt like a new one! its a little pricey i think garage price is around 20 bucks but i swear it works! And what did GM always advertise, "Keep ur GM all GM".
