Default Pulling the motor

SO pretty soon imn going to be faced with the task of pulling out the motor from my car. I would like to know whats the best way to do it, top or through the bottom, and any other tips that would make my life alllot easier. The tranny's already off BTW so I dont have to worry about those bolts.
Any help would be great.

Thanks, Darrin

If you have a lift or know someone that does do it through the bottom. I've had my engine out twice and this car has been the easiest engine i've ever taken out. When reassemleing you can bolt the trans up before it goes in the car. then when you put the engine up in the car you can leave it about 5in's from the kmember hitting the frame and plug all the wireing harness in the put it up the rest of the way. See my sig there's a lot of pic's of my first engine removal.

Pulled mine out through the bottom for the first time in my life in about 3.5 hours. That was me by myself mostly doing it. Only thing I tore up was the stupid low oil sensor. I forgot you unplug that one and when we were jacking up the car to let the motor come out, welll that wire couldn't hold up the motor and trans lol.. So you can guess what happened to it.

We have done about 6 motor swaps this year. All have been done out the top. This is our preferance. If you have access to a lift it might be easier through the bottom. Since you already have the Tranny out then it should only take you a couple hours.

**** im so confused now. The only reason why im leaning towards top is because i dont rele have easy acess to a lift, but i do have an engine hoist and all that other bs. I remember ls1howto had alot of good stuff is there a writeup on how to do this so i dont break any wires/ sensors/ F anything up?
