Default Hows this heads and cam package look?

I found a heads and cam package. The heads are 862 castings with .625 springs they flow .200 144 /.300 203 /.400 250 /.500 286 /.600 300 just freshly gone through. The cam is 224/228 .590 .595 113+1. How does this setup sound? Im thinking 400rwhp with a good tune. Any opinions? Car is in sig.

I would say depends on who did the port work and how much the package is. The sponsors have some pretty good stuff for cheap.

What are 862 castings? They dont seem to flow a whole lot, compared to something like PRC 5.3 heads or PRC LS6 heads. I dont know how much your getting them for but if its not cheaper than 1200 bucks Id goo take a look at what TSP is offering.
I have a very similar cam, but yours has more lift. Wouldnt you want some better flowing heads to take advantage of the higher lift cam?

The package will be around 1000 shipped including cam. The heads are Precision Performance stage 1.5 that TSP offers for 1109. Thats why I was looking at it cuz it was a pretty decent price. Maybe I should wait and get better heads though. IDK

All I can say, is with the cams out there if I was making 400 rwhp on a stock driveline, Id be a little upset. Give the car has the proper bolt ons and dyno tune.

Not sure but probably around 300rwhp. I figure about average LS1 with LS6 intake makes about that.
I really didnt have any other mods, except a lid and a flowmaster.
So I figure I got around 125 from my combo.

Also keep in mind my power is through a 9 inch, which eats some power, so someone on a stock rear end would see more than I...until it exploded anyway.

There is nothing wrong with the package that you are looking at. It will sound great and perform well. An 862 casting is a 5.3L casting. You should be close to 400rwhp, but keep in mind that you have an auto/3200 stall with 3.73 gears. That will eat some rwhp.

Where are you looking at getting those heads from? Do you know an approximate time they were produced or if they are even an actual PRC head?

You might take a look at some new heads that you actually know what they are and what they flow. The new 5.3L casting will feature our latest and smallest 220cc runner that will flow a decent amount of air across the board. Also, if you put it in our heads/cam package you can get a cam of your choice (a as well as a new set of chromoly pushrods. We are currently running a special for all PRC cylinder heads as well. Check out the "sponsor sale" section for details and feel free to shoot me PM with any questions or concerns!
