Default Loss of low end power with H/C?

Guys, do cars loose a little around town power normally after H/C? Like below 3600rpms or so. Maybe its just me or this hot weather but the car feels a little slack below 3600rpms. Its not a big deal cause at the track im never below 3600 heheheh

just wondering if its common to loose a little low end. I had to pull some timing to reduce some knock under slight throttle. I just think this heat makes the car run like crap. Car feels great with a little foot in her still though

Since you already had a cam, I would not expect a loss of low end power from the heads. Normally H&C packages are at break even by 2500 rpm unless the cam is really large.

HD, your issues come down to 2 basic problems:
1) You're paranoid
2) You can't drive
Did I mention you're paranoid?

I think the converter may be more to blame. I just got the Vig. 3200 and just the way it performs makes it feel like I lost some low end power, but that is just the looseness of the converter. Once I put my foot in it though it comes alive very quickly.

To me my car didn't feel like it lost any bottom end. In fact it probably did loose a little but the 4.10's more than made up for that. Do gears and don't worry about the bottom end.

Sounds like a good time for 160 T-stat, lower fan temps and a TB bypass. A 224 cam won't degrade low rpm torque; takes a lot bigger cam to do that.

In hot weather, my car always feels like a SLUG...w/the X1, heads and huge stall...anything below 3000rpms feels like a volvo...but you step into the gas and let'her know you're wanting to play you betta have a death grip on the steering wheel.

Alot of H/C cars that aren't properly matched can loose a lot of port velocity below a certain rpm causing a loss of torque...when I 1st put these big ole heads on the car w/the 218/224 cam I felt like I shoulda just stayed w/the 100shot...once I put the big cam in there that complimented the heads LOOOOOKKKKK OOUUUUTTTT....
