h/c swap. Just head gasket okay?
I am just about ready to start the h/c swap. I have my CNC heads, 7.4 pushrods, Custom grind 235-240-600-609 111.5 lobe cam, valves, and 500rwp rated head gasket kit. I still need to buy a patriot spring kit and a head bolt kit as well as a timming chain. Since my car has such low miles "25k" I am just going to use the stock lifters and port the stock oil pump. I have heard that you can reuse about every gasket except the headgasket On a budget build....
Just checking to make sure that other people have done this with a low miles build. Also feel free to let me know if there is anything you think I am missing for my h/c swap.

I've been tempted to reuse most of gaskets and have reused the intake and valve cover (couldn't get the new valve cover gaskets to stay on), but when you think about all the time it takes to disassemble and reassemble it just doesn't seem worth it to me. I would buy new gaskets and not have to worry about leaks.

Your call, I would personally replace all as tearing it down again to save a few dollars when you spent so much on the rest of it is false economy. I would also pick up an extra (maybe two) oil pump o-rings. They are cheap and the one part that you can damage during installation. If its a Sunday it will sure hold you up for a while as well.

not hijacking but similar topic,i got the small crank woble and was wondering if the underdrive crank pulley solves the issue or if it is something else causing it,i'm fairly new to ls1 since it was all 5.0 mustangs before that and these motors are way different.

Please do us all a favor and follow up on how you make out doing it this way.
The kit I bought came will all the gaskets other than valve cover. Somehow I pinched one of the water pump gaskets and had to pull it off later.
Just a thought; but where you can use RTV with the old gasket, like around the timing chain cover might give you a little more protection.
