Default Missfire when A/C is running

My 02' LS1 missfires when I put the AC on. I can hear some weird noise by the drivers side of the motor. Plugs and wires were replaced months ago, as well as O2 sensors. Not throwing any codes. Any ideas?

Is the running hot when you have the a/c on?

It will happen when cold or hot. The noise sounds like a missfire only when it is happening and I feel the car lose some power.

How does the a/c belt look? Can you smell burning clutch? The clutch on the a/c compressor might be locking up.

I will take a look at that. Now that you mention the belt, I do hear it 'chirp' when letting up after hard acceleration. Hopefully that is it. Would it be possible to change the clutch only? Thanks!

Check for a cracked plug. I had the same issue, it would miss slightly at idle and couldn't really tell until the AC was on then I could feel it missing even more. I hooked up HP Tuners and scan for misfires, which pointed to the #2 cylinder. I pulled the plug and sure enough the ceramic area was cracked. Replaced it and problem solved.

It's been fine without using the AC, but I wish I had access to HP Tuners or other software. That way I could be sure. I have checked most of the plugs. I found one that was cracked, but that was a few months ago. I can't get to 3 of them.

Unplug the coil pack and remove from valve cover. it will help you get to some of the back plugs.

Dont unbolt each coil from bracket just the 5 bolts in this pick and all 4 coils will come out together.

I unbolted one to get to some plugs. Never thought about all of them. Good idea, but I'm in a wheelchair so this makes things a little harder I will try again when it gets cooler.

Thanks again I appreciate the help.

Turned out the AC was leaking out one of the lines off the compressor. Took the belt off for now. Don't need AC yet. lol.
