What kind of input are you looking for? I would take the heads to a machine shop to make sure that the valves aren't bent. I would also select the next cam a little smaller in order to get some much needed piston to valve clearance. Next try to determine why your engine ate a lobe off the cam. When you take the heads to a machine shop, discuss your findings with them. When asking for feedback from a forum, take the initiative to throw in some pictures. There is little anyone on here can comment on from just your post.

new cam is a 230 ish with 610 lift. new valves are already lapped and installed. i was just kinda seeing if anyone else has had this kind of problem, or how much clearance is between the top of the piston and chamber. ive already polished the chambers but i can take a snapshot of the piston. . oh and i already know why the lobe is ate off..

The piston hit the head because you A) put too thin a head gasket on it or B) the piston is rocking excessively in the cylinder at TDC, causing it to hit. Could also be a combination of both. If it ran very long like that, your rod bearings will be toast.

T-rex fits fine. Where are the pictures? If you were looking to see if that has happened to anyone else, why didn't you ask that?

Pulled my stock heads off to fine my 233/239 cam was causing my exhaust valves to kiss my pistons, I have hit the rev limiter numerous times and miss shifted a few times too tho.
