Default Use OEM bolts or APR?

I am putting, well, its already in, a set of Patriot Sate 2 heads, Torquer 2, Fast 90/Holley TB. It is an LS1 engine. I purchased ARP studs for the heads but the builder said that OEM is fine for the ammount of power we are going to put down.

There seems to be a problem right now. He broke the adaptor for the temperature sensor and he needs to get the passenger head out so he can get the adaptor out of the head properly. It is a Rx-7 and so we need to use the mazda temp. sensor with an adaptor so the sensor can fit properly.

With that said, I am reading and it seems like we need to use new ARP studs to fasten the head again, because it has already been stretched/torqued. He tells me that they can be reused countless time, but I feel I must ask before he fastens the head again. I rather spend another $250 than $6000 for another engine.

Thanks

PS: I meant to write ARP, not APR on the title of the thread, LOL!!

Use the ARP, like you said spend the extra 250 instead of a having to buy a new engine.

If the ARP are installed, they can be reused as long as weren't damaged (over-torqued for example). If the builder used OEM head bolts, they must be replaced, the ARP's do not. Your post wasn't too clear as to what was actually used in your engine.

LOL, yes, I must learn how to phrase properly.

We used ARP studs to fasten the heads, but we need to take one of the heads out to remove the broken adaptor that is stuck. It cannot be removed without having to remove the head. So, my question is, can we reuse the ARP studs that are already installed and torqued? He torqued them using the following pattern: 22lbs-50lbs-85lbs for each stud.

Thanks

Yes re-use them, that's what you paid the big $$$ for. The ARP studs are re-usable!

I've had the same ARP bolts for 3 different sets of heads.....

+1 for them =D

When you pull them out, just clean them up, and re-use.

BTW the bolts had nothing to do with why I changed heads =P

ARP fasteners are well worth it. Not much money for peace of mind.
