I have the GM Hotcam. I have been pleased with it. I was not interested in all out track times, but with a decent running street/ occassional strip car that would be reliable (no spring changes, etc). I think I got what I was looking for. Sounds mean too.

Get the Hot Cam if you want to save money, want a nice sounding lope, and don't want to periodicaly change springs.
Get the C1 if you want a smoother idle and more power, and are willing to pay more money for the upgrade and change springs every two years or so.
The C1 is a more technically advanced cam that will perform better and idle better, but at a price. It will also pass emissions better, though in Texas you probably don't care about that.

Wait, you have an A4?! Go with a 114 lsa cam. TR220 for you, or as mentioned the MTI Stealth (115).
You can run a 112 on an A4, but will encounter some idle issues. TB hole/ bump and or tuning will be necessary.
Hotcam not the best choice for an A4.

I had 65,000 miles when I did the swap. I changed
some parts-
Katech Oil Pump
ASP Pulley
Rollermaster Double Row Timing Set
Valve Seals
LS6 Springs (kit)
Retainers (kit)
Thermostat
LS6 Intake
Gaskets
I figured we were in there. Might as well freshen things up a bit. My install cost $400.
