My stock 03 Z06 runs 12.05@114.5 with just drag radials. You will need some sticky tires, then after that a new ring and pinion (because your 10-bolt will grenade).

You need a rear end with a m6 if you want to push lower times on track.

Getting into the 12's with a m6 isn't that hard with bolt ons or cammed, pushing that bit farther down is the tough part.

If only on street, full bolt ons will get you there, then add cam alone will guarantee the win. Heads + cam is like overkill.

are you just assuming that or do you actually have a race under your belt there? cause i'll go ahead and tell you a cam doesnt guarantee anything. my ta vs buddys stock z06 from about a 70 roll wasnt even close. my car made around 380 to the wheels and the z06 just walked away. those things are geared so much better than fbodies that they have a pretty big advantage.

Why stop at a stock Z06? Most of the Z06s I know rolling around already have full bolt-ons, heads, and a better cam.

If the C5 Z06 has CAI, LT's and a tune, you'll loose.

Ring and pinion (gears) will do nothing to keep a 10 bolt from grenading. Especially if you go to a higher ratio. Either way from a dig, a z06 is possible to take down with just bolt ons, assuming you can drive

Absolutely NOT true SladeX! Matter in fact the Powerglide and properly built automatic trannies run some of the best times if built correctly. I toast M6s all day that use a similar setup as mine. So be careful what you wish for bro. Happy Hunting!

a full bolt on trans am wont beat a stock z06 example http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O2LCSuO_dYs here is one with a small cam like the one you want http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=It7FaQVb1_U with full bolt ons and a small cam you should take him if u drive pretty well but those z06's even stock are monsters with the weight aero and gearing advatage there very strong.

you need to do some weight reduction, noone has touched on that yet.

the t/a is like 400 lbs heavier than the z06......so you are theoretically need 60-100 more whp to take him out.

it was an 04 z06(a comm.. edition to be exact) bone stock to the paper filter and tires...... and ramsoccer has all bolt ons + cam + 4.10 gear

it was ugly.... but then again... it was from a high roll... (just screwing around on the highway on the way to a mountain run) so aero and the z06 gearing play a huge advantage

um... a stock c6z traps 125-128, youll need a good cam, bolt ons and spray to make it a drivers race

You must not have read anything here.

Full bolt ons and a small cam with a good tune should put you right there.
