Default TR230 Vs. MS3 For summer driver

Hey Everyone.

Ive currently got a TR230/224 Cam, and im trying to figure out if im better off w/ a MS3 Cam.

The car is a '89 iroc-z, 3100lbs, w/ a '99 LS1. It has 241 casting heads, LS6 intake, ASP underdrive, Stainless works LT's, T56 w/LS7 Clutch, CAI, LS6 MAF etc.

The car is my daily driver in the summer, though i dont drive daily haha. It sees driving most days.

Im looking to determine which cam will provide me best "under the curve" power, though id like a decent peak too (Aiming to be Very low 12's to high 11's)

Im perfectly fine with revv'n it up a bit to get goin & moving up the RPM a bit for my power, but i just want the car to be very responsive to daily driving, and to come out of the hole pretty quick.

Aim is 385+ Rwhp, 370+rwtq

Thanks!

Default cam

I have done extensive research with the same outcome......................TR230/224 hands down for what you want. It's proven time and time again. Same curve as the 224/224 but with more on top and a great lope. The stick, a great cam too, will be too much hassle to daily drive like you want. I have one waiting to go in myself. Just my two cents............

when you say you already got the TR230/224 does that mean its waiting to go in or you have driven it and want something else?

Is the same cam that you have listed for sale? If it is, I pm'd you that I would take it.

Are you comtemplating not selling it now?

My X1 is very similar to the TR230, and I like it a lot. Next time I'll go bigger, but for a DD its nice.

I wouldn't take a loss on the cam you already bought, especially after all the great things you head about the tr230

Another thrilled TR230 owner here....it's an awesome DD cam. Pulls hard throughout the RPM band and has great topend. You'll love it.

I have the TR230 and love it. Pulls from 2k all the way to 6.3k or so. I raced a MS3 with heads (I have heads too) and put a car on it and kept pulling. I also had an ls1 intake and he had a ls6.

"Split Pattern" - 230/236 .592/.602 112 LSA

The 230/224 was the 1st cam I had back in the day. It drove well sounded good and ran well It was a "bigger cam" then compared to todays.

the TR230 is a proven bad *** daily driver street cam. i havent seen any regrets with anybody running the 230/224 cam. ive seen people who had that cam and got rid of it cuz they wanted bigger, but when they went bigger they missed the under the curve it made.
