Default Dual Valve Spring recommendations that don't need machining?

Since I don't want to machine my heads to fit traditional dual valve spings for a cam with over 0.600" lift what is available (REV, Crane, etc.) and what would you recommend?

I've been using the new Crane dual springs for two weeks now. I believe they are good for 0.650" lift, but don't quote me on that. So far so good!

For a cam with over .600 lift, I would look into the Crane Doubles.

REV duals of Crane doubles. i believe those are your only two choices without machining.

Which is better? Who has the Crane dbls? The only doubles I had heard of were the Revs (that didn't require machining). Thanks

Thunder Racing's website says the Revs can be used with stock spring pocket, it doesn't say anything like that about the Cranes. Does anyone has some documentation that says you don't have to machine anything. I want to ditch my single springs but I don't want to have yank the heads to have them machined. Thanks

The new Crane duals are a direct replacement, no modification to the head is needed. I would use the Crane hardened spring seats though.

Crane duals #144832-16

seat preasure = 112lbs@1.8
open preasure = 352lbs@1.150

The seat preasure is lower than the 918's. Would that cause any problems?

Set them up at 1.780 and that will give you about 130lbs. on the seat and about 365 open.

Geeeeze.. ...This thread is very very old..it came back from the dead .. PRC duals and Patriot gold duals are good and require no machine work..I put 43000 miles on a set of TSP's PRC platinum dual springs with a cam with .595 lift without any problems..

Both PRC and Patriot now have dual springs that will handle .650 lift..
