'10 camaro or ls7 crate for '99 z/28?
which would you take/prefer?
'10 camaro would end up at about ~35k
(consider insurance too)
ls7 crate about 15k for my '99 z/28 i'l do all the work and trying to keep a budget under 20k (if possible for conversion) and consider resale of orig ls1 already in it and misc parts that would contribute to build.

yeah really..
i mean the z/28 is lighter and would outperform the 2010 if it had the ls7 and im sure most of you are very happy n 'comfortable' with your current fbod not that it would be difficult to adjust to the 2010 but the interior of the 2010 looks more 'spacious' (its cool too dnt get me wrong) and the 98-02's are super sporty i think..
im not hating or anything; i am drooling jus like most of you over the 2010 but u all know what i mean

Here's my thing:....say you drop 20g's into the motor you decide to buy and drop in....You're dropping 20 g's in a '99 z/28 that you'll never get your money back from.
On the other hand, you can have a nice new car that's pretty fast (well, fast enough) and EVERYTHING on it/in it is new....and you get a warranty.

I voted '10 Camaro.
Don't get me wrong, an LS7 4th gen would be awesome, but as someone else mentioned, unfortunately its still a 10 year old car.
Buying a new Camaro gives you the complete package, new motor, drivetrain, new chassis, new interior, new everything. Its tough to beat that. Not to mention a warranty is always nice

wow. I wish i had such a troubling decision to make...
I vote new Camaro. (I'd rather have the motor, but unless your swimming in cash that poor investment is going to bite you in the rear.)

You can build a stronger more powerful LS7 for $1000.00 or so more then the GM Crate motor. That is why I am having one built. I was planning on purchasing crate LS7 also but after talking to Mikey @ Rapid the plan was scrapped.

If they do sell as well as the Mustang, keep the Z28 because if you buy the Camaro, you will soon be sick of seeing so many of them on the road.
That is why I am keeping my GTO
