Default Ls3 6.2litre build-up

I just recently aquired a ls3 shortblock and was wondering what heads and cam pkg would be needed to get around 550hp or so.

You can use the Trick-flow heads, talk to one of the vendors on here, they would put you in the right direction.

With the right cam, I'd think you could get pretty close with the stock LS3 heads and intake. I've seen 500hp+ out of them before, but I don't know if you could break the 550hp mark with bone stock top end parts..maybe a good CNC job would do the trick for that, but then you might be in the $$ range of aftermarket heads??

Guys are getting 500+rwhp from cam and bolt on LS3's. It should be pretty easy considering 500rwhp is around 550-560fwhp @ a low 10% powertrain loss (in other words, a 500rwhp car is probably making even more than 550). You shouldn't even need to touch the heads, though I would for about 25-30rwhp more.

I was told the ls3 crank could take up to 700hp, however the pistons shouldn't see power beyond 550hp is this true? I have an 1981 chevy malibu i wan't to put this ls motor in do they make kits for this car? Also do they have any top end kits like the trick flow kits that could produce around the 550hp range?

Thanks!
