LQ4 is a gen III motor, but if you keep the stock LQ4 cam, an LS1 intake will be fine and fit under the hood.

The LQ4 has the 350hp LS1 cam. Changing the intake alone wont do much. An LS6 intake might give a few more top end hp, but wont be very noticeable.

What cam and other upgrades would you recommend?

You could go with heads, cam, intake, exhaust...etc and get 500hp.
But I would leave it stock and enjoy driving it.

Truck intake makes more torque than the car intakes, and more power than all of them except the LS6 (very similar power) especially the newer style truck intake which makes more power/torque than any other stock cathedral intake.

The LQ4 only has the LS1 cam if its an 01+.
