Default 6.2L oil pump

does anyone know if an oil pump from a 6.2L engine will work on a 5.7L LS1?

6.2L part number - 12571896
5.7L part number - 125566436

Yup, I used one on my 6.0L. Just make sure to use the white relief spring for the oil pressure bypass (32psi) instead of the red one (supplied is 52 psi or close to it)

So what does that mean??? If I leave the stock 6.2L pump in my 6.0L then its going to have low oil pressure or high oil pressure, or how will it affect it?
thanks for the reply.

The 6.2 is usually equiped with DOD (displacement on demand) or VVT (variable valve timing) or both which requires more oil flow to the cam phaser and through the VLOM (valve lifter oil manifold) if the engine the pump came off of had either of these options it will have a red spring, repacing the spring as mentioned will lower the oil psi to a safe level for your engine.

the pressure isn't the big issue on these. It is how high of volume they are. I know this for a fact...

ok, gonna drag this one back out from the depths... I have this same pump out of my motor and would like to use it if possible. If it can in fact be used with a spring swap, does someone have pics of the spring location, and can I just order the springs from GM or SDPC or ?
