Damn, didn't know it was that easy...

there is a hell of a lot more too it than that. It all depends on your combination. Heads, intake, cam, compression, and a million and a half other things will determine your RWHP.

For the money the LSX block is by far the strongest block on the market. It can withstand anything you throw at it and now they offer a tall deck! Im building an LSX 440 and wanting to get 700hp n/a.

Once you break 1,000 hp, you're entering shaky waters for any of the aluminum LSx blocks.

How much RWHP do you want to make?

Its all in the top end. Heads and cam will determine how much power you make, the cubic inches gives you the potential.
We've got an LS7 457 that will make power in the 750+ range.

Why would you do that? The ls7 block is more than adequate for an NA build of that caliber.

From what I understand, the LSX blocks are typically used for power-adder/boosted applications.

Maybe I am wrong, so please feel free to correct me.

Another consideration is the additional wieght of an LSX IRON block. The LSX block is 100lbs heavier than the lS1. This is a significant amount of wieght to be adding to the nose of the car. People spend Thousands of dollars on lightweight wheels, drag-brakes, k-members, ext.. to take 100lbs of the nose of their car.

LS2/LS7 blocks have taken people deep into the 9s... and I am sure they have been deep into the 8s as well.

Bigger is not always better. Don't just blindly buy an LSX block w/o considering the other factors...

All excellent points !! We can get more cubes safely from an LS7 (457) and re-sleeved LS2 as well. (460)

Really?????

460 ls2 sounds very nice. I would assume that would be an NA only build?

Sorry for the , but Blanco - What is the largest CI ls2/ls7 motor you would recommend for a large N2O shot? (say 200-300, with a good tune).

We can do a sleeved ls2 460 that will handle the 200 shot but no bigger. The LS7 457 is n/a only.

You need a truck load of money for any ERL aspirations, we can get you very close to the same for less money
