All comes down to budget. A 403 ci to a 500 ci all depends on you budget
Erik(HKE) and I work together to build you the best engine for you money to meet your goals.
Be it a Ls2 403 or a LS3 416 to LS3 445 all the way up to an LS7 457 or we can re-sleeve an LS2 and get you a 460 with the ability to spray a 200 shot on top. OR we can use an ERL superdeck and go for even more cubic inches but it all comes down to budget.

750+ fwhp, will run mid to low 9's on 91 octane pump gas in a 3300 lb car.( in our long block configuration) 7200 rpms, 4400 or bigger stall. The long block is $16,750, the short is $10,450. Both receive HKE special full race prep worth about 40 exra hp over a regular build. 7200 rpms, 4400 or bigger stall.

With what I am running in my sig, the car is tame and very driveable. But it also puts down 490rwhp and 478 rwtq, so when I open it up, it is a beast. My only regret is that I kept my old heads instead of going with something bigger. Still, 24 to 25 mpg combined with that power, it is great.

Thanks alot guys, im looking toward the 403-416 ci setups.....I plan on starting out with a kickass short block setup, and build it slowly when i have the money, that way im not killing my wallet all at one time and it will give me some time to research different head setups for what i want......Either way, the t56 is definently stayin in the car

Cubes is free power when doing a build like this, and with the Gen III/IV heads and how efficient they are, they can feed alot of cubes But, as most said already, just shoot for over 400", keep compression at 12:1 and under for pump gas, hydraulic roller for the utmost in reliablity, and there is no reason that you can't make 600-700 FWHP (depending on comp, cubes, cam, heads, etc....) on a DD on pump gas

I just got back from taking our C5 vette with our ERL 500 CI engine in it on the Hot Rod Power Tour this past week. It proved that it's a street engine as well as a track engine. For this particular build we used the L92 heads, stock LS7 intake, stock LS7 injectors and the engine performed flawlessly. The engine dynoed at 632hp to the crank with 620 ft lbs. On the chassis dyno it did 538 hp at 509 ft lbs. and we are only using 93 octaine. She idles at 1100 rpm and redlines at 6500 rpm. It is a great reliable engine with a ton of power to back it up.

The more cubes the better, always with N/A.
If you have $10,000-$12,000 to spend, build a 500 RWHP 422ci. If money is no issue, the ERL 500ci would be the choice, with All-Pro heads and an ITB intake. Make 800 RWHP on race gas.
