Alright, I didn't want to do this...
...but I have no choice. I'm at my whit's end.
Forged 368 Cube LS2 fresh from the machine shop. New everything but the pick up and the pan. ZERO oil pressure! Before I get the usual responses...it's got a new o-ring that's not pinched, I put the bar-bell in the back of the block, and the autometer gauge is new. There is no oil circulating to the top of the heads, but the port above the filter (where I have the pressure sender) has oil to it. Gauge reads zero even at that point.
Weird part is, the LQ9 I had in the car before did the EXACT SAME THING!
Any ideas?

Is the small plug in the front of the block? It's about 1/2" diameter and looks like a freeze plug. Here is a picture.

The old LQ9 did the same thing? Did you use parts from it for this engine? What parts if so? Sounds like a common issue. If you used the same pickup then maybe the pickup is cracked above the oil level causing air to enter the pump and cause cavatation. If it is the same block then maybe there is an issue with the oil passageway itself, plugged or has a hole in it. If all the engine parts are not the same then it has to be something external that you are using from the old engine like sensors, oil lines, gauge. Good luck and let us know.

Everything is new except the pick up and the pan. I'm guessing its the pickup tube. Going to go ahead and replace the pump, pick-up, and the pan. We'll see.

Changed the pick-up, pan, and the pump today. Fired up 50psi at cold idle. After looking the old stuff over, I think I got a bad pump from GM. It was moving oil to the filter, just not enough pressure to move it up the back of the block.
Lets just say thank goodness for a tubular K member when taking the pan off the car.
