Default need advice on a 8000+rpm 427cubic inch iron block n/a motor for circle track

Here is the deal i need to build a 800+ crank hp that will spin to 8k plus dependably with a iron block for my dirt series. I have to run a distributor and carb set up.World products new block for distributor drive cam or lsx. i am stuck the world block has the cam in old school position with longer push rods, i am thinking that would not be near as good for high rpm as the raised cam lsx based motor. Also can used less expensive old school crank with this combo. It would be easier for distributor mount. As far as power adders there will be none. I am going to build a solid roller higher compression dry sump motor always race fuel. i need advice on cam for high rpm, heads, and what you think about this longer pushrod deal for high rpm durability. Advice on compression always use 114 or higher fuel. I need a good combo would like 850 crank hp, but it needs to have good power through 8k with good torque to get off the corner. I have a lq4 6.0 block know but am afraid of the durability,do you think it would be dependable? all help appreciated. I know you guys are mostly drag i have a 450rwhp on motor 600hp on juice 10 sec ta and am tired of this 23 degree motor in my dirt car.

We build a lot of circle track engines, both dirt and asphalt, and the long push rods are not the way to go. Usually we bush the lifter bore and go with a taller lifter to remedy this problem if the cam height is not desirable.

The Lq4 block will not do you much good trying to make big hp with a max 4.060 bore size either. I would look into a ls7 block for light weight and a 4.125" bore. That is if you are trying to be some what budget minded about it.

wht about the ls bowtie block? its not much more than the LS7 block and you can have a decent size bore.

Has to be iron so looks like lsx bowtie iron which was probably going to be my choice what head is doing best for this app and compression and what would be a good solid roller combo.

There is a team that has recently raced a Gen 4 engine in the Super Late Model series. The engine displaced 434ci and made 849 crank hp and 685ft/lbs of torque. It uses a Dart billet block and has a distributor driven off of the front cover. The torque was deemed obscene but on the right track it could all be used.
Contact Bob at All Pro for more details about their combination.

Best of luck.

surprised to see you suggest an LS7 block. I thought there were issues with the LS7's as far as block flexing under sustained high rpm racing.
