Is it just me or shouldn't you spec your cam to your heads and not the other way around...

Nope, it's not just you. Cam should be last....well pushrod length is really about the last thing to be determined.

FWIW, if OP's head guy tries to port based on all the different cam specs noted above (and probably below) he will grow old fast.

Hopefully OP's head guy really doesn't work from cam to port and OP is just confused about that.

Thank you!

To the OP, if you would like a cam spec'd for your particular app, get the head info first, what intake manifold, TB, and compression ratio along with your intended usage then contact a reputable shop to have one done. If you are interested, shoot me a PM.

Thanks,
Shane

I'd say get with Pat G. I did some talking with him on l92 cams and am going with one he spec out for me. He seems to have done his homework.

Are sure the dog didn't eat it?

L92s are a little more difficult to cam properly for a number of reasons. Look for results that have been posted.

I'd probably shy away from a "reverse split".

Damn those L92 heads...what makes picking cams for these heads so "taboo"? My CNC L92 heads will flow 353.4 @ .600, 363.6 @ .650, 367.6 @ .700 lift on the intake! Exhaust flow is 260 @ .600, 266.4 @ .650, and 270 @ .700 lift.
Help me pick a damn cam!!!!!!!!!!!
