Default L92 base circle

I measured my L92 cam that I just took out and then the LS7 cam replacing it.

L92 base circle appears to be 1.55
LS7 base circle is 1.45

just sayin'

This was my first LS series cam swap after doing old SBC and Pontiacs. Pretty wild how sweet the process is, and the quality of design. I spun the cam and took a risk. The lifters all stayed put and slid the new cam in. unreal.

Hoping to get my project running and do upgrades later. Another po' boy risk, assuming the stock bee hive springs can support the LS7 cam, part of the reason I'm using it

Anyway, figured the base circle info would be good to post for searchers.

The springs are not even close.

Definitely will need new pushrods.

I don't think that cam will be too good with a L92 intake.

Me too. I have to admit I'm just piggy-backing. I needed the cheapest way possible to eliminate the VVT and this was it. Andrew B. has done the swap into an L92 and I believe got 420HP to the wheels with headers. Look for his build up on a search for "GTO 2.0"

This is going into an RX7, I'm swapping the LS3 intake on and running some 02 F-body manifolds until I can upgrade to headers.

cc 918, would prolly be the most economical, since they allow reuse of your seats, retainers and locks.
and will be safer than shimming stock ls6, not that i have ever done that

I'm in a funny margin with this cam. The valves are heavier on the L92, the lift is about .550 though with the 1.7 rockers. Looks like I'll spit out pushrods if I even try to run the stock springs. I had hashed out a plan to drive it like a tractor motor until I could do the deed. hahaha

I appreciate all the info provided guys! I don't like to cry and you may be saving my ***.
