How to remove powersteering
I am pulling my engine and halfway through and cannot find any articles on removing the powersteering pully/reserviour. Stupid little hex bolt just doesn't seem to have any way of removing.
If anyone has links or pictures I would very much appreciate it.

I've done it both ways, but one time I had the puller and installer kit. Its far easier to just take the 10min to slowly turn the bolts. If you don't have the intaller the you better unbolt it.

just found the gm powersteering pulley puller
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/GM-PO...QQcmdZViewItem
also going to get the little tool to pop the clips.
Was a fun Sunday taking the front end off - just being sure I dont scratch or hit anything taking the engine out.
Then the fun of putting the new engine in :S
will be interesting to open this one up and see what damage I did, most likely just a spun main.

PWR st.
All you had to do was loosen the 2 13mm bolts behind the pulley with an open ended wrench far enough to rock the pump forward. Then with your open end 15mm you can take the top 2 out, or loose. The bottom one, I used a swivel socket to remove it.
No need to remove the pulley !
Been there done that....

Your pulley looks the same as the crappy plastic one that comes with the Corvette. I replaced the plastic pulley with a metal one (wagon wheel design) a bit stronger and you can get to those bolts thru the pulley if you needed to. Also makes checking the pump for leaks a little easier.
To be sure it's a direct replacement for the f-body, just take your existing pulley to your GM dealer and tell them you want an LS3 power steering pulley for a Corvette. Compare the two to make sure the offsets are the same. The metal pulley costs about $32.

I may just look into the corvette pulley. Going to be taking my time building the engine on the mount now nice and slow and cleaning up the engine bay to be even better for shows than it was before.
Changing from yellow/black to red/black to match the rest of the car.

Got it off this weekend, along with the A/C condenser which are not really off but just hanging down sitting on the ground. Didn't have to remove completely there is enough slack in the lines to let them just drop down.
Took starter off completely, it was hanging by the negative wire and didn't want that much weight just hanging dead.
Made my own power steering 15mm wrench. After buying a ratchet wrench and other set of wrenches that should have worked but still way to thick I found a POS wrench I got free with one of my sons bikes. just stamped metal junk. it was just a tad to small so I dremmeled it out to 15mm and it worked perfectly. went between the head and p/s reservior, also perfect for the bolt betweeen the lines. Mother Necessity strikes again.
