LSX Tall Deck Build
Thanks to Dr.Jamie Meyer and his GM Performance Parts Team; Billy Briggs Racing Engines will be using the all new GMPP LSX Tall Deck as the foundation for the latest creation to come out of Stenod Performance. A turbocharged 4th gen Drag Radial Formula Firebird dubbed "The Money Shot"

Some of the basic details include:
4.125 Bore
Callies 4.375 stroke billet w/center counter weights
6.400 Dyers 300m Billet Rods with a .927 pin
Diamond Custom Pistons
Jesel Belt Drive
Jesel .938 bronze lifter bores
Jesel .936 TS-Series Roller Lifters
ARP 1/2in head studs
Stay tuned as Billy Briggs will walk us through the machining processes required to make the GMPP LSX Tall Deck Block 2500+ capable!

That is an absolute monster you are putting together. Do you plan on using another pair of ET / PIS canted valve heads or are you going to hold out for some of the other castings coming out soon?
I like Carries LSX DR heads of coarse and I like the new GMPP DR heads too. I guess it is a matter of whose castings are available first.
I am going to guess $2200 as my rough estimate.

I know you had a Callies crank in your old motor and you are putting one in this build. Why didn't you use a Bryant crank or something else like I see in other high horsepower builds? Is it just personal preference or is there something with the Callies that puts them ahead of other cranks.

I actually have a bryant but it is a 4in stroke and the reason I got that one is because at the time Callies did not have center balance LS crank yet and I was going to use the short deck block but now that they started making them and I am switching to a larger stroke I decided to go back to Callies. Their customer service and quality has been excellent for the 6 years I have been using them. No point in messing with a good thing!
