ls7 wall thickness
has anyone sonic'd an ls7 block? i have the chance to buy a used block cheap and i havent seen it in person yet, so if it needs to be bored i would like to know what guys are safely getting out of them. i imagine the only other option would have to be sleeving it.

You should be able to hone it out .020 and be ok. If it needs more than that just give us a call and we can sleeve it with our dry sleeve system. It's priced very well too. Here is a link to that product.

The 1550.00 price is with the customer sending us his core to work on. If the customer doesn't have a core block then we can provide you with one of our for an additional price. It does need to be an LS2, LS3 or and LS7 block.

I have an LS7 with bore wear. To clear the wear it's going to need to be taken out +20 thou.
If I were in the States I'd be sending it to ERL for liners but I'm in the UK. The exchange rate is currently awful for us.
Has anyone gone plus 20 on the standard liners?

LS7 bore size with stock sleeves
If the block has no core shift, you will be fine at .020" over bore on a stock horsepower engine. That's about as far as I would push the stock sleeves. That would leave .077" wall thickness on the gray iron sleeve.
The Darton Seal Tight dry liners I install in these will go out to 4.185" bore normally aspirated. They are much stronger than the stock gray iron liners in these blocks.
I got two cracked #7 bore LS7 blocks in this past week for welding and sleeving. If the casting has core shift even the stock bore size sleeves can and do fail.

7 wall thickness
This is completely false I own an LS7 factory block with 10 over with an 88 mm precision turbo pushing 12 lb of boost 760 wheel 880 torque for years no problems so for someone to come here and say that you can't go over 5 only cleanup it's complete bullshit
