Default Are my LS3's trashed?

Finally got my ls3 headed 408 running and found out #5 was smoking badly. Come to find out, the intake port has a crack in it where the pushrod is. I have one person telling me it's fixable and another saying it's just way to thin and prolly can't be fixed because it's just too hard to get to. Just curious what the consensus is here on this problem.

Without seeing how bad a crack and/or where exactly it is...I doubt anyone here can help. Find a local reputable shop, take the heads there, and ask them.

Guy who ported the heads is fixing them for me. Says its not a problem. Motor should be back in the car within a week! Can't wait to get that 600 RW number I've been hoping for!

Could, but it wont with a typical setup... Gonna need lots of rpm, solid roller, etc.

your goal is certainly attainable in my book with a hyd roller cam, good heads, decent compression and a free flowing intake setup.

lg motorsports hit 577rwhp with a stock bottom end ls3

ive been damn near 550 on stock bottom end with wcch work..nothing special

IIRC Pwebbz build is a little more than a conventional pump gas WCCH or PRC LS3 headed build. His heads have extensive porting hence what just happened to create this thread. I think he went 9's all motor in the car with it.

His flow on his LS3's were something crazy like 380 cfm and they were still flowing at .750 and .800 lift.

Edit: Here is a thread I remember reading about the heads
