Default Need some help identifying a piston, come in HKE, LME, or anybody who can ID it.

I bought an engine from a member on here that said it had diamond boost pistons in it. Well I took it to my engine builder and he can't find the part number of the piston in Diamond's catalog to get rings for it. So I don't know if these are Diamond pistons or not. I need some on this help guys

If these aren't Diamond pistons then me and the guy who I bought it from are going to have a serious talk

The only number I could get off them was 6392fs and they are for a 4.000 bore and 3.622 stroke. Here are some pics of them.

That actually looks like a Diamond custom boost piston to me...

What makes you say that? I can't recall ever seeing a diamond piston with "anti detonation" groves

I'd say its Wiseco or Probe, what is the thickness of the rings? Often Wiseco would use 1/16 top rings, should measure .062" if so.

I tried looking on Wiseco's site and the part number I listed doesn't even correspond to any of their part numbers. Diamond's part numbers are 5 digits and this one has letters in it, they don't have any letters in theirs.

I really need to find out what piston this is. I'm going to see if I can talk to the guy i bought it from and see if he has any paperwork or something.

I'm also going to measure the rings and get back with you Frasier

What numbers/letters are on this piston? Also, where are those numbers or letters stamped/cut?

The numbers are in my first post and they are on the piston in the 1st pic at the bottom of the 2 eyebrows on top of the piston.

You can't see them in the pic but they are there.

I appreciate the help Matt. I have bought stuff from you guys before and never have been let down.

I still didn't get a chance to measure the rings Frasier but I will do that as soon as I get a chance, but that looks like it won't be til after Christmas.

By the part number you provided, it is a Wiseco -25cc dish piston. The "F" tells you that it has the 1/16" 1/16" 3mm ring pack. All the "X" numbers use a 1.2 1.2 3mm ring stack.

Thanks Bryan! I just looked in Wiseco's catalog and they have one K392xs, which is close to my part number and its for the same application. Now, I just need to call Wiseco to get the correct ring pack since that piston uses the different one.
