6.0l > lsx376
Hello, everyone. Brand new member here, and somewhat new to LS engines as well. I have a 2006 2500HD with a 6.0L. I am hovering over the "checkout now" button to order an LSX376 to swap out the 6.0L with. I've decided before I do this that I should ask some questions...
1) Will my stock intake and ignition work with this engine, or do I need to change to LS3 parts?
2) Will my ECM work(with a tune), or will that need to be swapped?
3) I see the engine listed at 450Hp but does anyone know the torque figures?
4) Do any of you know if block modification would be required to swap in a stroker crank to this engine?
Thanks for any and all answers you guys can provide!

After machining, piston, crank, new heads(or rebuilding what's on it), etc I honestly don't think I could build what is in the truck for much less(if any) than purchasing a the 376. You can buy a 376 with warranty for $5400. I MAY be able to save $700-$800 by building what's in it, but for the convenience of not having to park the truck for a month or more while I wait for machining, I say it's worth it.

You will need a ls3 intake. Computer should work with a tune. I believe you will need a cam sensor adtapter or something for ls3 style swap? (Someone correct me). I highly doubt you would need any block modifications to fit a longer crank in a lsx block but why buy the high dollar lsx376 just to swap parts out? Your 6.0 with a heads/cam swap will make about the same numbers at alot less cost. Jmo

I understand your reasoning. Sounds like you should just find a crate motor and have fun, sell the 6.0 for 750the to recoup a little money. But a ls3 build isn't a direct swap. You would still need a intake, harness adapters, fuel rails, injectors, ect ect. Just be sure and factor all of that in with your costs

Just put a turbo kit on that 6.0 and make way more power than that lsx376. 100k miles is nothing. Many guys have put turbos on motors well past 100k.
Truck will sound and look like stock until other people hear the whistle
Is it 4wd? That would make a sick ride if it is.

The LSX376 crate motor is a waste of money. Get a built motor from a different company for less money that will have nicer crank/rods/pistons. The LSX one basically has stock ls3 internals. You would be better off just buying a stock LS3 and saving the weight.
Look at the motor options from AES, HKE, LME, etc etc before ordering. You will get a lot more motor for your money.

We can build you our TMS 495HP long block with a 12 month warranty that will be a DIRECT REPLACEMENT for your truck. No need to change intake, valley cover, Front cover, knock sensors,..... The whole thing with no core is $4649. We can also take your motor in as a core and take some off of it depending on the condition of the motor. Give us a shout, save some $ and get a motor fast with a great warranty.
The LS3 crate motor, direct from GM with all brand new parts, comes with a 24 month warranty, all for $6195 ( if you "know" someone, you can get it for $4350 - 30% off )
