Default Prc 250 cc vs stock ls3 heads

Am wondering why they use prc 250 cc for them strokers ?? As i knew the stock ls3 had 270 cc intake runner with 70 cc chamber ! So its bigger than prc specs and that what the stroker's owners need . So why they preffer prc ?

Good question. I swapped up my Dart 250cc for some LSA heads but I did that when switching from naturally aspirated to turbo. I had always wondered what the car would have ran like with the big cathedrals on it.

Best guess....... PRC LS3 Aftermarket heads changes the valve angle to 13 deg.

This provideds better air flow, increased piston to valve clearance, and you can mill them to get higher compression.

Even after milling the PRC Aftermarket heads, you can run a larger cam profile than with a standard GM LS3 heads.

ls3 heads are really tricky to port and get results on track. as they are soo big, its easy to get good flow numbers but they get turbulent which kills tge gains. heck, on my 6.0, i've just shaved mine and left ports alone (light car 10.1 n/a)

cathedrals are well known head and people know what works.
